Senior Network Engineer


Job Description:
Summary:
Reporting to the Director, IT Operations; the Senior Network Engineer (Senior NE) is primarily responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing upkeep of all network technology systems maintained by the IT Department utilizing a mixture of on-prem and cloud technologies spanning various geographic locations and vendor platforms.
Daily operations and oversight of all network hardware or associated software systems are the ultimate responsibility of the Senior NE including installation, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, etc.
Further responsibilities of the Senior NE include participating in the technical design and implementation aspects of assigned technology projects, serving as an escalation point for all technical issues and collaborating with team members to develop recommendations for standards and procedures.
The Senior NE is expected to be intimately familiar with all technology systems so they may proactively identify opportunities for improvement that are socialized among the team and ultimately presented to IT Management for consideration.
Additionally, Senior NE is primarily responsible for administering networking aspects of the Cyber Security Initiative (CSI) which governs all aspects of the Company's cyber security posture and operations.
The Senior NE will accomplish this by executing cross-platform vulnerability and compliance assessments, delivering professional reports including findings and recommendations, and driving remediation efforts to close identified vulnerabilities.
In addition, the Senior NE investigates and resolves security events detected by in-place security solutions.
Further responsibilities of the Senior NE include collaboration with the IT Management and Network Operations groups in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and maintenance of security policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures.
The Senior NE is expected to be intimately familiar with all aspects of the CSI and actively work towards achieving the goals of the program.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Primary Owner of the security posture of all enterprise networking systems.
Maintain and enforce cyber security standards, policies, guidelines, procedures and baselines in alignment with CSI objectives.
Coordinate, participate and report on cyber security incident response activities.
Generate and publish periodic cyber security metrics.
Conduct recurring risk/vulnerability assessments and associated tuning of cyber security systems in collaboration with the Network Operations group.
Participate in the planning, design, implementation and operation of cyber security architecture in collaboration with the IT Management and Network Operations groups.
Proactively monitor and maintain network hardware and software systems.
Maintain the performance and security of all firewalls, switches, wireless access points, etc.
Troubleshoot complex networking issues and provide best practice recommendations for resolution.
Develop and maintain documentation including, but not limited to, standard operating procedures, equipment installation methodologies, project plans and environment configurations.
Respond to and resolve all support requests/inquiries in a timely fashion.
Ensure all networking related support requests are logged and properly documented in the ticket management system.
Develop and execute technology projects to completion, on time and within budget.
Participate in the adherence to, planning of, and analysis of the operational budget.
Participate in and drive participation of the organization's change management process.
Other duties as assigned.

Work will require occasional weekend and/or evening work, including on-call support which is rotated with other members of the Information Technology department on a pre-established schedule.
All members of the IT Department are considered Critical Personnel and have responsibilities during weather and other emergencies.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
