Job Description:
Scope of Work:
The Dept.
of Finance needs a full-time Contractor to assist the Risk Management (RM) Division Chief and the Insurance Manager with the Insurance Section activity and tasks and related items.
1) The Contractor will assist with analysing and evaluating contract scopes of service to recommend insurance requirements and critical terms and conditions for Montgomery County Self Insurance Program (MCSIP) members; aide in annual renewal of commercial insurance program through underwriting data collection and compilation; and ensuring Certificates of Insurance (both issued and received) and endorsements are compliant with requirements.
2) The position requires:
skill in oral and written communication to multiple audiences and organizations and solid negotiating skills; familiarity with, knowledge of and the ability to understand commercial insurance coverage; ability to analyse scopes of work and contracts for exposures in order to develop insurance requirements for contract and other legal agreements; an understanding of compliance with insurance requirements and certificates of insurance and a understanding of indemnity provisions in contractual agreements.
A strong customer-service focus is key, as the position has significant interaction with both inside and outside colleagues and works with inside colleagues and outside contractors and vendors.
This position requires the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office.
3) Contract staff will work side-by-side with County staff to facilitate knowledge transfer.
The County reserves the right terminate this Task Order at any time in accordance with contract terms.
The Department of Finance reserves the right to review and make final decisions as it pertains to staff and their replacement.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's Degree.
Preference for candidates with at minimum two (2) years of professional experience in an insurance agency, brokerage or underwriting position or contract legal work.
If selected for consideration for any of the required positions, candidate(s) will be required to provide evidence of possessed knowledge, skills, certifications, and abilities indicated on resume.
The County will conduct background checks on the desired candidates and reserves the right to terminate the contractor at any time in accordance with the contract.
