Rockville, MD Rockville, MD Full-time Full-time From $27 an hour From $27 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago Deskside Support Specialist As a Deskside Support Specialist, you will go on-site with our clients in the Washington DC metropolitan area to address a wide range of computer issues (slowness, hardware issues, trouble connecting to resources, monitors, printers) to user management (such as password resets or adjustment of group membership in Active Directory, or new user onboarding).
You will also perform ad-hoc onsite visits for clients that have immediate needs (such as computer crashes or new computer deployments).
You will participate in new computer deployment projects (imaging new workstations and setting them up for the specific users, etc.
).
You will also assist with our support center, providing phone end-user support to our clients.
While our staff primarily work within Microsoft systems (Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Windows 10, Office 365) you will also support other technologies, such as Macs and 3rd-party software (Quickbooks, document management systems, Dropbbox, etc.
).
Your Position You will join an elite team of engineers and technicians who are serving our nearly 100 clients in the DC Metro area and beyond.
You'll serve as the trusted hands-on resource to a dedicated subset of our clients, gathering the client's information and determining the customer's issue by analyzing the symptoms and figuring out the underlying problem.
No two clients are alike, which means you'll have your hands in different environments, different technologies, and different atmospheres on a day-to-day basis.
You'll have our full suite of managed and cloud services (and the rest of our team) at your disposal to learn from.
As our technologies and your clients' technologies continue to advance, so too will your own skills.
Your Responsibilities Provide hands-on desk-side support for our client end users during both pre-scheduled and ad-hoc visits.
Handle all manner of desktop and laptop computer support duties, including format, install, set up, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Participate in workstation build, configuration, and testing as a member of project teams.
Mastering a wide range of network environments and continuing to expand your skill set as the technology landscape evolves.
Your Qualifications BS/BA degree (Strongly Desired) 2-4 years relevant experience.
Proven customer service and problem solving skills.
Excellent at communicating in a way that makes sense to non-technical people (face-to-face and written).
Direct experience with user administration in an Active Directory environment (include new user setups and group administration).
You must have performed these tasks in a live small/medium business environment (REQUIRED).
Experience with the format, install, and set up of desktop and laptop computers.
Experience troubleshooting desktop and laptop computer issues, including adding or replacing memory, keyboards, motherboards, and other components.
Experience setting up and administering printers.
Must be willing to travel around the Washington D.
C.
area on a regular basis.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
