The Accounts Receivable Department is the team that is responsible for ensuring accurate application and reconciliation of all payments.
As a key member of our Accounts Receivable Department, you will responsible reconciling cash receipts, applying customer payments, and identifying and recording miscellaneous receipts via journal entry.
The position will work closely with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and Specialist, Corporate Accounting, Collections, and other departments to ensure that all AR and cash activity is properly identified, recorded, and reconciled each month.
The analyst will ensure the companys Accounts Receivable (AR) balances are accurate and research/resolve any differences on a daily basis.

Your Responsibilities
Process cash as required via various banks ensuring payment predictor and manual applications are accurate (Domestic, International and Procurement)
Assist in performing daily cash reconciliations for dedicated receivables bank accounts
Reconcile customer accounts as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances
Complete true-up process for terminated accounts to ensure that customers are refunded/pay in a timely manner
Research unidentified cash receipts to determine proper accounting treatment
Prepare journal entries for miscellaneous cash receipts
Address escalated AR issues from customers, Cash Applications Specialist, and other departments including Collections, Billing and Accounting
Assist with preparation and distribution of relevant reports for tracking of daily/monthly metrics
Process AR write-offs as recommended by Collections, Procurement or other revenue generating department, ensuring appropriate approvals/support have been provided
Process pass-through payments to Choice vendors/JV partners
Process refunds due to franchisees
Perform other related duties as requiredYour Experience, Skills & Competencies
Bachelors degree
Relevant experience in Accounting, Treasury or Accounts Receivable, including general ledger and journal entry preparation
Knowledge of various payment methods (credit card, wire, ACH, direct debit, etc.
)
Prior experience with cash application in an ERP system a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate-level Excel skills
High degree of initiative, personal responsibility and integrity
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across the organization
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with the Collections Team and other members of the organization, assisting and training team members as needed, and learning from colleagues and supervisors.

Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, were located directly across from the Rockville Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Right now, our associates in Rockville, MD are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days.
