OUR MEDICAID CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST The primary responsibility of this position is to complete the Medicaid application process with our Medicaid Pending families from the initial filing of the Medicaid application through approval.
This role will continue to interact with the families/residents of Medicaid Pending admissions and to be a supportive resource to them in all stages of the Medicaid application process.
Each admission requires a financial meeting and this position will ensure proper notification is provided to the resident and their family regarding their requirements for Hebrew Home to receive payment from the Medicaid payer.
In addition, this position will provide assistance with the county caseworkers and any other entity that impacts the application process, while addressing all financial questions and concerns from residents and their families related to financial coverage at admission and ongoing.
All transactions must be completed in accordance with contractual terms and complex regulations governing private pay, Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care.
RESPONSIBILITIES -MEDICAID CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST MUST have experience with MD Medicaid Coordinate with the Resident Accounting Specialist - Medicaid pending, to determine the financial status of each potential Pending Medicaid admission.
Discuss their obligations to guarantee Hebrew Home will be paid for all services rendered.
Provide strong customer service skills to ensure a high level of supportive service to our families by addressing their financial concerns, while assisting with the Medicaid application.
Monitor Resident payments and ensure timely receipt of payment from resident/families.
File Medicaid applications Act as the financial representative (if authorized) to obtain the bank statements and insurance policy information as needed.
EDUCATION & TRAINING-MEDICAID CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST High school diploma.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a health care business office under the Medicaid payer, preferably in a long-term care setting.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
SHIFT AND STATUS This is a FULL TIME NON-EXEMPT position with standard business hours, in the office.
LOCATION This position is based in our Finance Department located in the Dekelboum Building, located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland.
