Summary:
The IEP/Student Services Manager acts as IEP coordinator overseeing IEP development and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
The IEP/Student Services Manager supervises all student services, including student records, transportation, nursing, billing and data collection.
In addition to serving as the liaison with representatives from local and state education agencies, the IEP/Student Services Manager also provides professional development and training to program staff on IEP systems, progress and report card reporting and testing while coordinating and meeting the requirements of the local school systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative Responsibilities (60%) Oversee the IEP process by coordinating IEP meetings and paperwork with local school systems, ensuring compliance of IEPS and maintaining and updating student IEP information in state IEP and Ivymount IEP systems Serve as Local School System liaison, coordinating meetings and observations with school system personnel and Ivymount staff and communicating significant changes in student services (fade into this role year 2) Process monthly student reports (e.
g.
, attendance, related services documentation) as required by each LSS Establish billing costs for funded and non-funded students with billing office.
Revise as needed during school year.
Complete annual student cost sheets in coordination with Business Office manager and the Related Services Administration system Training, Performance Management and Professional Development Responsibilities (20%) Provide professional development to program staff in developing IEPS and using IEP systems Evaluate department staff performance regularly, minimally prior to the end of each school year Attend informational meetings conducted by LSS' to ensure compliance with local requirements (assessments, IEP/ESY, attendance/truancy, transportation, etc.
) Cross Functional Responsibilities (20%) Coordinate staff development on LSS requirements as it relates to instruction (e.
g.
, course descriptions, report cards, transcripts, graduation requirements) with Education Director/Registrar Collaborate with Admissions Coordinator as it relates to the acceptance and planning for new student starts Coordinate parent mailings with Education Director and the Director of Communications/Marketin REQUIREMENTS Master's degree or enrollment in a graduate program in special education or related field Minimum three years' experience serving in a leadership role in an education setting Experience in IEP development and process and knowledge of IDEA Experience in staff development and training Excellent organizational and written expression abilities with strong attention to detail Collaborative and engaging communication style in working with people of many backgrounds, including teachers, parents and LSSs.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills such as relationship-building, active listening and diplomacy Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience in non-public schools preferred Certified or eligible for certification in special education or related field for Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) preferred Three years satisfactory teaching experience preferred Advanced understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis related to evidence-based staff training, supervision and performance management preferred Job Type:
