We are currently seeking a Grants Management Specialist with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, Maryland.

com Overall Position Summary and ObjectivesLearn about the flexible parameters and capabilities of OtherTransactions (OTs) while working closely with a team of scientific andadministrative colleagues to develop and implement unique, forward-lookingresearch programs.
Duties may include:
o Conducting the closeout of OT agreements.
o Preparing OT agreements with awareness of the unique nature andrequirements of an initiative.
o Recommending and developing language for OT agreements.
o Applying financial management principles consistent with appropriationslaw.
o Assisting program officials with negotiations with applicants.
o Reviewing of applications/proposals with the ability to identify scope,budget and/or term issues.
o Providing advice to resolve issues.

Assist staff to manage and coordinate develop and maintain annual grant portfolio and provide administrative support for the Grants Management Branch for the review of grant applications and resolve which involves a wide variety of problems and situations pertaining to the grant functions.
Assist staff monitor grant and award budgets in concurrence with final funding lists and monitor eligibility criteria in order to meet monthly grant deadlines for fiscal year.
Assist staff review annual grant progress reports and new grants for conformity to Institute policy, compliance with Federal regulations, and consistency with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Provide advice, assist staff interpret and prepare guidance interpretation and guidance on statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures as they related to the award grant program in general and as related to individual awards.
Perform specialized tasks and ongoing responsibilities in support of grant programs, projects, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Assists with reviewing grant applications and preparing responses.
Assist staff review and evaluate for accuracy and completeness competing and non-competing grant applications.
Assist staff review grant applications for policy and regulatory compliance and report issues.
Draft correspondence to address any administrative or management issues related to grant applications.
Assist staff advise applicants and grantees on financial and management issues relevant to their applications and perform corrections.
Initiate correspondence to grantee institutions regarding grant-related questions and problems, clarification of policy and procedures, or requests for additional information.
The work will be on other transaction agreements that are processed through the eRA system and other systems used to manage grants within NIH; experience with eRA is beneficial.
Assists in analyzing and preparing reports to track status of awards and funding.
Conduct administrative and financial review of grant applications.
Coordinate simple funding actions that begin the grants/agreements awards process.
Prepare budgets for award in spreadsheet workbook, analyzing requested amounts based on allowability, allocability and reasonableness.
Assist staff prepare for and perform grant closeout functions.
The work will be on other transaction agreements that are processed through the eRA system and other systems used to manage grants within NIH; experience with eRA is beneficial.
Creates and maintains a database for grant activities.
Maintain official grant file(s), prepare electronic documents and upload images directly into the appropriate IMPAC II eGrants file groups.
Maintain and track co-funding, administrative supplements, diversity supplements, funds tracker using databases and SharePoint.
Create or edit documents such as spreadsheets, correspondence, template forms, terms package and reports.
The work will be on other transaction agreements that are processed through the eRA system and other systems used to manage grants within NIH; experience with eRA is beneficial.
Performs queries, conducts analysis, and produces reports.
Perform queries of grant management applications and systems and prepare summaries of results.
Prepare budgets for award in spreadsheet workbook, analyzing requested amounts based on allowability, allocability and reasonableness.
Assist staff review grant budgets, comparing figures and amounts, reconciling discrepancies, and recommending adjustments.
Research and develop variety of grant related reports, summaries, and dashboards to inform staff.
The work will be on other transaction agreements that are processed through the eRA system and other systems used to manage grants within NIH; experience with eRA is beneficial.
Provides support and routine updates to staff.
Apprise staff of issues and problems that could cause grant awards to be late or delayed.
Communicate with appropriate Program Officer and Grantee Sponsored Research Administrator when questions arise.
Collaborate with staff to use guidelines and policies for specific situations utilizing NIA, NIH, and HHS grants administration sources.
Bring to attention of staff areas needing additional policies or procedures and contribute comments and suggestions on new policies, revisions, justifications for changes, etc.
Provide advice to program staff, applicants, and grantees on administrative and business management issues.
Identifies grants that are ready for final processing.
Work with staff on pre- and post-award activities, including the preparation of grant awards.
Work products and documents related to awarding grant awards; approved pay plans for awarding grants.
The work will be on other transaction agreements that are processed through the eRA system and other systems used to manage grants within NIH; experience with eRA is beneficial.
Reviews and assembles completed documentation and identifies pending issues or changes.
Ensure that electronic folders on the common drive for each application being discussed contain the correct information, including the application, summary statement, letter from PI and staff analysis.
Resolve grant-related issues, working with scientific and administrative personnel and with similar staff of grantee organizations.
Develops procedures for the grant review and approval process.
Revise terms appropriate to reflect budget adjustments and policy concerns.
Pull and analyze data from existing systems to monitor grant workloads.
