Senior Payroll Manager
Essential Search Partners is engaged in a search for a Senior Payroll Manager for one of our growing Montgomery County clients. This Senior Payroll Manager will supervise the processing of an over 4,000 employee payroll. The ideal candidate will enjoy managing and developing a team with an emphasis on providing superior customer service. They will have previous process improvement experience with a demonstrated willingness to 'roll up their sleeves' to get the job done. Key Responsibilities
o Person hired will manage and guarantee accurate weekly and biweekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage & hour laws for union and non-union employees.
o Lead and mentor the payroll staff; set goals and evaluate performance for team members.
o Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and General Ledger support; audit payroll balance sheets and YTD earning.
o Help to implement a new payroll system in coming months; ensure system is set-up and updated to reflect current employee base.
o Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations relating to payroll operations and control.
o Continuous improvement of payroll processes and strategies to align with overall business objectives and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
o Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or an equivalent level of knowledge in a relevant field.
o Ten years
payroll experience with at least 3 years Supervisory experience.
o Demonstrated leadership: experience managing, coaching, and evaluating staff.
oExtensive experience with payroll systems; Workday software a plus. Experience implementing new payroll system/conversion preferred.
