NETE is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Computer Security System Specialist to join its Rockville, MD team.

Responsibilities:
Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency.
Develop plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.
Monitor current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems.
Modify computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status.
Coordinate implementation of computer system plan with establishment personnel and outside vendors.
Monitor use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information in computer files.
Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
Encrypt data transmissions and erect firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted and to keep out tainted digital transfers.
Required Skills
Minimum 10 years of total information technology experience
10 years of general information technology experience in one or more of the following areas - Systems Administration, Network Administration, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering
5
years of dedicated information security experience, where responsibilities include planning, deploying, managing and maintaining enterprise security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) systems, anti-virus systems, vulnerability scanning, etc
Desired Skills
Knowledge and hands on experience with COTS enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including: SIEM, firewalls, logging, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, TACACS+, VPN and NAC.
Great Knowledge of NAC from design to deployment
Strong skills implementing and configuring security components
Strong understanding of how to run a Patch and Vulnerability Management Program
Demonstrated experience in computer security combined with risk analysis, audit, and compliance objectives.
Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, common protocols and standards.
Knowledge on how to visual a Network and analyze traffic flow
Experience designing and implementing network systems.
Strong working familiarity with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
Experience with network monitoring. Analyzing network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors. Recommending network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
Strong Writing and Communication Skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, written and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Hands on experience with these specific COTS products (or similar competitive products)
SIEM (IBM Qradar)
Network Access Control (NAC) (ForeScout)
Patch Management (BigFix),
Network Full Traffic Capture (Opnet, Netscout)
Firewall Management (CheckPoint, Cisco ASA, Skybox )
IDS/IPS(Enterasys Dragon)
Vulnerability Management (Tenable Security Center)
Certifications:
CISSP certification is preferred or in process.
CCSE is highly desirable.
Project Management certification is a plus.
