POSITION: Senior Software Engineer(s) (MMIS)
DUTIES: Design, develop, implement and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for MMIS systems or MMIS subsystems. Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, and/or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Develop and/or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming and development of documentation. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements. Develop and design software systems, using scientific analysis and models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, and status. Work with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. May be assigned as lead developer or act as technical resource to lower-level developers. May be assigned to projects that utilize JDBC, JSTL, Servlets, IBM MQ, JavaMail, DOM/ SAX/JAXB, XSLT, XPATH, agile software development, rapid application development and Web Services. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Comp. Sci., Engin.(any), Business or related technical field. 60 months experience in job offered or computer-related occupation. Experience must include 60 months of
progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Experience must include: 1) Java; 2) Oracle relational databases or SQL Server; 3) JSP; 4) J2EE; 5) JMS; 6) XML; and 7) PL/SQL. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
