The Systems Security Engineer job responsibilities will include:
Provide technical assistance with integrating new security software and hardware into NIDA's environment (Server and Desktop).
Manage anti-virus and malware detection, analysis, and remediation.
This includes providing installation, configuration, and support for NIDA IT management authorized anti-virus software and console.
Perform regular operating system, and application patching of Microsoft products.
Perform application patching of software using patch packaging and automated distribution tools.
Perform system and application vulnerability scans.
Analyze the results of vulnerability scans.
Analyze and remediate penetration tests.
Track vulnerability remediation efforts and report.
Assist in the review and development of security policies and procedures.
Develop and enforce automated security process.
Work with end users, developers, system administrators, and network administrators to implement security practices, security-related system configurations, and security-related SOP's.
Provided security-related monitoring of all systems and networks.
Perform system and application log consolidation and analysis.
Provided support and expertise for encryption effort, utilizing a whole-disk encryption products including Checkpoint, Symantec/PGP, WinMagic and FileVault.
Provide comprehensive security incident management, including notification, response, remediation, forensic analysis, reporting, and coordination with NIH.
Provide support in preparing responses to security-related data calls and information requests related to audits.
Assist with Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) activities.
Prepare and update network and system security documentation.
Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to quality.
Action oriented and results driven.
Required Experience Bachelor's degree in software engineering/computer science or equivalent experience.
6
years of overall Security IT experience.
