Computer science / technology engineering teacher

The teacher candidate will provide instruction for students to understand of the design of computers and computational processes and make them aware of the wide range of computer and IT specialties.
The study of data and data structures, algorithms, computer architecture (both hardware and software), numerical analysis, artificial intelligence, mobile technologies and language design, structure and translation are all part of the comprehensive computer science education offered through the computer science programs.
Candidates should be willing to learn new skills and techniques to reach students of all backgrounds in ways that inspire them to keep learning.
Applicable college coursework, industry certifications and work experience will be evaluated.
Seeking computer science teacher candidates to provide instruction for students to access, analyze and communicate information effectively so that they will become successful, contributing members of a changing information-based global society.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Under direction of the school principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students.
Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student.
Develops, selects, and differentiates instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
Maintains appropriate records, follows required procedures and practices, and uses data analysis to monitor student achievement.
CERTIFICATE LICENSE:
Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices.
Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and community.
Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
